Select movie theaters in France are slated to screen Cannes opening film 'Everybody Knows' by famed Iranian director Asghar Farhadi.

The screenings will be held following the featuring of 'Everybody Knows' at opening of 2018 Cannes Film Festival in France, a media report said Saturday.

Asghar Farhadi’s film will open the 71st Cannes Film Festival in Competition on May 8.

Iranian filmmaker Asghar Farhadi has lined up a five-star cast for his latest movie 'Everybody Knows'.

Starring Javier Bardem, Penelope Cruz and Ricardo Darin, the film is a psychological thriller about a woman called Laura (Cruz) who travels from Buenos Aires with her family to Spain for her sister’s wedding. Their intended celebrations are disrupted by unexpected events that expose a hidden past.

Farhadi’s previous offering ‘The Salesman’ scooped two awards at Cannes – best script for Farhadi and best actor for Shahab Hosseini – before going on to win the Oscar for best foreign-language film.
